Fate, Urgently Needs Life-Saving Obstruction Surgery

Donation protected
Meet Fate, an adorable nine-year-old domestic shorthaired cat from California who is currently battling a serious and painful condition—a urethral obstruction. To relieve the blockage and help him recover, Fate urgently needs surgery that is estimated to cost $3,347. Paws 4 A Cure is providing a $400 grant, but his mom is trying to raise an additional $500 for the remainder of the funds that Fate needs to move forward with the treatment.

His loving mom has shared their heartfelt story, which you can read—along with more adorable photos—on Fate’s fundraising page.
You can help make a life-changing difference for Fate and his family by making a tax-deductible donation toward his veterinary care. Every dollar brings him closer to healing.

If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing his fundraising page helps spread the word and brings us closer to our goal.

Thank you for being a part of Fate’s journey. Let’s give him the chance he deserves.

“My sweet baby Fate is 9 years old and became apart of my life 9 years ago as a kitten. Fate was probably only a few months old when I found him in my backyard, bloody and missing part of his ear. From that moment on he captured my heart and I knew he was here to stay. He actually got his name because a few days after I decided to keep him, he went missing in my neighborhood and sadly, I thought that was the last time I would see him. But then, miraculously, a random person rang my door bell with Fate in her arms and asked “Is this your cat?”. I smiled and said yes. It was like it was fate for us to be together and thus I decided that was his name. Since then we’ve been inseparable.
Fate’s urinary blockage first occurred in 2021. I noticed he was not eating and seemed very unlike himself. I rushed him to the emergency vet and thankfully I made it just in time to save him. He was catheterized and the vet assured there was no need for surgery as this was the first time the illness occurred and surgery would be very costly. Fast forward, to March 2026, the same symptoms I had witnessed Fate have 5 years ago were back.
Fate has been diagnosed with a urinary blockage again. He has already received a catheter and IV fluids to flush out the urine to avoid further kidney damage, but this time he needs to have the surgery. Fate is a loyal friend, like no other. I couldn’t imagine losing him so soon.
My cat Fate means the world to me; he is a loyal friend like no other.
We are so close to our goal, but Fate is still in need of $500 to cover the cost of his surgery. Anyone who is willing and able to help save my beloved Fate’s life by donating, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart and your generosity will not go unappreciated.”
