Hi everyone,

If you know me, you’ll know one thing for sure….i hate running and to be honest, I can’t even run properly, so signing up for the HBF Run for a Reason 12km on 24th May 2026 is definitely pushing me well outside my comfort zone, but this run is about something much bigger than running.

I’m taking part to raise money for Beyond Blue, supporting mental health awareness and services, particularly for frontline workers suffering with PTSD.

Frontline workers spend their careers helping others during some of the most difficult moments in people’s lives. They see and experience things most people never will, and often carry the weight of those experiences long after the job ends. Many continue to show up for others while quietly dealing with their own struggles.

Mental health challenges like PTSD can affect anyone, but they are especially common among those who work on the frontline. Organisations like Beyond Blue provide vital support, information and a lifeline for people who may feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.

For me personally, this run means even more. I’m doing this before I have to embark on another inpatient hospital admission, in order to try a new treatment after all others have failed.

I wanted to do something positive and meaningful during this time, not just for myself, but to help others who may be facing similar battles.

So on 24th May 2026, every kilometre of this 12km run will be for frontline workers who have spent their lives helping others and for anyone struggling with their mental health.
