Vongsomleth Maharath is a dedicated local farmer in Waialua on Oʻahu’s North Shore. For years, he has worked tirelessly to provide fresh produce to the community, building his livelihood from the ground up. Tragically, the 2026 Kona Low storm changed everything. The storm brought devastating floods that swept through Vongsomleth’s entire farm, destroying his crops and taking away the foundation of his work. In addition to losing his harvest, Vongsomleth’s tractor and van—essential tools for his daily operations—were also lost to the floodwaters.
This disaster has left Vongsomleth without the means to support himself or rebuild his farm. The loss is overwhelming, and the road to recovery will be long and challenging. Immediate and urgent support is needed to help Vongsomleth get back on his feet, replace vital equipment, and begin restoring his farm so he can once again provide for his family and community.
Mahalo for your kokua—every share and donation helps and will be extremely important for getting back to a new 'normal.' Your generosity will make a real difference in Vongsomleth’s life and help him recover from this unimaginable setback.
This GoFundMe was created by the volunteers from Help Maui Rise for the Storm Kōkua initiative and will directly benefit Vongsomleth Maharath and his bank information was added for him to withdraw directly.
