This is something we never imagined doing, but after a lot of encouragement from friends and family, we’ve decided to open up and ask for help in our journey to becoming parents.

Our journey with infertility began in 2021. What started as simple questions of “why isn’t this happening?” has turned into years of doctor visits, procedures, and a constant cycle of hope and heartbreak. Along the way, it became not only a fertility struggle, but also a real health battle. Over the last four years, I’ve had multiple surgeries to remove recurring uterine polyps, along with different medications and treatments to try to regulate my body and give us a chance to conceive. Along with the physical and emotional toll, this journey has also brought a significant financial strain. Each IUI cycle and each surgery (due to deductibles), has cost us thousands. Needless to say, it has made saving for IVF much more difficult.

We’ve also faced some unexpected setbacks. After my third surgery in 2024, pathology came back showing early pre-cancerous changes. While it wasn’t anything immediately dangerous, it was enough to take a step back and shift our focus. I had to go back on medication to prevent further growth, which meant putting our plans on hold again while also trying to figure out how we would eventually afford IVF.

This past year, we held onto a lot of hope. After making some health changes, I was finally able to ovulate on my own for the first time in a long time, which felt like such a huge answered prayer. We truly believed we might finally be getting close. But after months of trying, more testing showed that the polyps have returned again, and I will need a fourth surgery this June.

At this point, we’ve had some honest conversations with our doctors. After three failed IUI attempts and because of how quickly the polyps continue to come back, trying naturally will likely keep leading us down the same road. IVF is now our best chance at growing our family after this next surgery. And we have to pray that it does not take multiple transfers for IVF.

This hasn’t been an easy decision. We’ve put it off as long as we could while holding onto hope and trying to navigate the financial side of it all, which has honestly been the biggest hurdle of them all. But more than anything, we just want the chance to become parents, and this is the path in front of us. Sharing this is incredibly vulnerable for us, but we also know we’re not the only ones walking through infertility. If anything, we hope our story helps someone else feel a little less alone.

If you feel led to support us, whether that’s through donating, sharing our story, or simply praying for us, we are more grateful than we can put into words. Even just taking the time to read this means so much to us. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
